Lexi Bryan

Founder | Labor & Delivery Specialist | Washington State Certified Doula

Lexi Bryan founded Whatcom Working Doulas in 2021 with a commitment to providing families throughout Whatcom County with compassionate, inclusive, and judgment-free care.

Lexi is a Washington State Certified Doula and a ProDoula-trained Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Infant Care Doula. Her additional training includes VBAC support, Intentional Birth Training, and placenta encapsulation. She is also ProviderOne credentialed and can accept most insurance plans, including Washington State insurance and Apple Health.

Before beginning her work as a doula, Lexi supported adults with developmental disabilities. This experience strengthened her ability to remain calm, attentive, adaptable, and respectful of each person’s individual needs. She brings those qualities into every birth space, helping clients understand their options, communicate their preferences, and feel supported throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period.

Lexi is passionate about helping families feel informed, confident, and genuinely cared for. Her steady presence and personalized approach allow each client to feel heard and supported while making the decisions that are right for their family.

Alissa Blume

Co-Owner | Postpartum & Infant Care Specialist | Washington State Certified Doula

Alissa Blume joined as co-owner of Whatcom Working Doulas in 2021 alongside her daughter, Lexi Bryan, with a shared commitment to providing families throughout Whatcom County with compassionate, inclusive, and judgment-free care.

Alissa is a Washington State Certified Doula and a ProDoula-trained Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Infant Care Doula. She is also a trained Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and provides families with knowledgeable, personalized support during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and the transition to life with a newborn.

As a mother of three, Alissa understands that every pregnancy, birth, baby, and postpartum experience is unique. Before beginning her work as a doula, she spent more than 17 years as a professional baker and chef. This experience shaped her practical, attentive approach to caring for others and strengthened her passion for supporting families through nourishment, education, and hands-on assistance.

Alissa specializes in postpartum recovery and infant care, offering daytime and overnight support tailored to each family’s needs. Her warm, nurturing presence helps parents rest, recover, build confidence, and better understand their newborn while feeling genuinely supported in their own home.

Alissa is passionate about creating a calm and reassuring environment where families feel heard, respected, and cared for without judgment. Her goal is to help every parent feel more confident, capable, and supported as they settle into life with their new baby.
